Q: MEP Andor Deli (NI, HU) - Import of pet animals from non-EU countries to the EU (2021-05-17)
Pursuant to Article 13(2) of Regulation (EU) No 576/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the non-commercial movement of pet animals and repealing Regulation (EC) No 998/2003, the Commission shall, by means of an implementing act, adopt a list of territories and third countries which have made an application for entry on the list in which they demonstrate that for pet animals of the species listed in Part A of Annex I, they conform to the requirements set out in Article 13(2).
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 577/2013 includes a list of the third countries, as set out above, in which appear several Western Balkan countries – with the exception of Serbia.
1. Did Serbia submit an application to be included in the list?
2. If so, when can it expect to appear in the list?
3. If not, what must Serbia do to in order to appear in the list?
A: Ms Kyriakides on behalf of the European Commission
The Commission has not received an application from Serbia to be listed in Annex II to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 577/2013[1].
To be listed in that Annex, Serbia must submit an application to the Commission, demonstrating that the criteria laid down in Article 13(2) of Regulation (EU) No 576/2013 are fulfilled[2].
