This question follows on from Written Question E-013257/2015.
In its reply to the above question, the Commission makes specific reference to five previous questions. The answers to the latter in turn refer to many other questions asked in this connection.
It is therefore clear that this is a matter of concern to many MEPs and in particular members of the public, requiring a suitably enterprising response on the part of the Commission.
Unfortunately, however, this has not been the case with regard to Question E-013257/2015. In its answer thereto dated 13 November 2015, the Commission indicated that it had ‘not planned additional measures’ since it was ‘waiting for the outcome of this study’, while in the previous paragraph it stated that the awaited results had already been presented on 12 November 2015.
In view of this:
Can the Commission in the meantime give further details concerning any additional measures it plans to take?
When are such measures to be expected?
A: Mr Andriukaitis on behalf of the Commission (2016-03-15)
The study on the welfare of dogs and cats involved in commercial practices is still under scrutiny. As soon as it is finalised and duly analysed by the Commission, the Commission will be in a position to respond to the question.
